Recently, came across this a video about protecting the Eight amendment. I didn’t know what the eight-bill was nor existed. I began to research the change and found something interesting.
According to the Irish Examiner, the Government intends to ask for a straight ‘repeal or retain’ on the future of the Eighth Amendment. This would mean the right of the expectant mother to terminate the pregnancy.
The passage of the Abortion Act (1967) liberalized abortion laws throughout the United Kingdom. Because of its citizens’ who had strong religious values. Both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland rejected this trend. (Read more).

In My Opinion
Yes, the Irish law saves about 5,000 children from being aborted. As I was reading the law, I found myself thinking that it seems a little outdated and maybe have to be re-written. Also, I feel there is no need to be repeal. Even though, I do believe that an abortion law is a good idea, but, I do not think that a woman should be kept in servitude for life.
